UCL is one of the foremost medical research and teaching
centres of Europe with a substantial programme of continuing development
in basic and applied medical science. The
Royal Free & University College Medical School, UCL is at
the heart of the development of a new multifaculty institution closely
linked with seven NHS Trusts in London and teaching over 2,000 medical
students in North Central London. It is introducing a new undergraduate
medical curriculum in September 2000.

| Middlesex University is a leading modern regional University
with an international reputation. The School of Health and Social
Sciences has 3,500 students and offers undergraduate and postgraduate
studies in a range of subjects which include nursing and midwifery,
human biology, environmental health sciences and complementary therapies.
The School provides health education in collaboration with major NHS
Trusts in London and is involved in joint research and educational
initiatives locally, nationally and internationally. |

Whittington Hospital |

| The Whittington Hospital is a busy District General
Hospital which is one of the associated teaching hospitals of the
recently merged Medical School, and a base for the education of nurses,
midwives and other professionals through Middlesex University. It
is developing plans to be the urban hospital of the 21st Century on
St Mary's Wing, adjacent to the Archway Campus. |
