Evidence/Experimentally based Neurological Physiotherapy

The aim of the course is to provide an overview of the theory and evidence available on which to base clinical practice in neurophysiotherapy. The course will include working with clients. Participants are expected to do some preliminary reading and work before the course. Topics covered will include functional overview of the central nervous system, neuroplasticity, pathophysiology, task analysis, adjuncts to therapy such as use of treadmill training to achieve muscle strengthening, botulinum toxin. This is primarily a course for therapists working with adults.

Assessment
By essay and clinical exam; course participants can gain 15 MSc credits if they undertake the assessments. Click here for more information.

Dates: Next course March 12 - March 23, 2007 at the Royal Free Hospital, London

Duration:  2 weeks full time.   Please note: The course runs over 9 days- with the final Friday for clinical assessment of the participants. This is for participants who wish to receive 15 UCL credits for this course. The credits can be ‘stored’ for up to 2 years for accreditation to the UCL MSc programme (total credits needed 150).
