| The best
known free internet version of Medline, is Pubmed, hosted by
the U.S. National Library of Medicine. It primarily consists of references
drawn from Medline and Premedline. |
| Medline
is a clinical medical database, indexing 4,900 medical journals world-wide
in a range of languages. It is strong in clinical research, and it
can be searched using Medical Subject Headings (through the MeSH browser). It
contains records back to 1950. Pubmed Medline records are updated
on a daily basis. |
| PreMedline
is the "in-process database" of the National Library of Medicine.
It provides basic citation information for new records before they
are fully indexed and added to Medline. PreMedline records are added
to Pubmed on a daily basis. |
| Pubmed
offers links to journal web sites that offer full text access. However,
please note not all of these sites offer free full-text
access. New for NHS users - a
route to Pubmed which displays NHS full-text links, available for
those with NHS ATHENS accounts. If you do not have an NHS ATHENS password
click here to find out more. For
UCL users PubMed now links to SFX, which will show whether a journal
title is taken by UCL or whether there is a full-text connection -
just connect to PubMed using the button below. UCL-enabled full-text
requires a UCL IS account. Click
here for more details |
| This
page also links to a brief guide on searching PubMed. |
| Please
note that connecting to any of these sites will take you away from
the Archway Healthcare Library page. You will be able to return by
using the back button on the browser toolbar (top left of screen). |
