ATHENS accounts
 
ATHENS accounts are issued by institutions to allow their members access to specific internet resources. These may included databases, full-text electronic journals and full-text e-books.
Each institutions' ATHENS account leads to different resources, so an NHS account gives the holder different e-journals from, say, a Middlesex University account.
UCL no longer uses ATHENS and has made alternative arrangements.
