Access to Embase

Embase is a clinical medical database, indexing 3,600 medical journals world-wide in a range of languages. It is strong in pharmaceutical information and has more of a European bias than Medline. Overlap with Medline can be as low as 33% depending on the subject, and so a comprehensive search on a medical subject (for example as part of a systematic review) will need to cover both databases.
NHS staff can access CINAHL via their NHS ATHENS account. For more information on eligability and registration for an NHS ATHENS please click here.
UCL staff and students can use Embase on UCL registered computers in the UCL computer room in the library basement, or from any computer providing they have a UCL IT username and password..
NHS access to EMBASE with an NHS ATHENS password NB you will need to log-in on this page before the link to EMBASE will display.
access to EMBASE for UCL staff and students A UCL userID and password is required if access is from a non-UCL PC.
